Father's Day 2026

Moments with Dad

For Father’s Day this year, I went back into my archives and pulled up some favorites of dads I photographed in New York, California, and Chicago. It was so special to see all the different dads enjoying time with their kids. I hope you’ll get some inspiration from these for your next session.

Laughter Makes the Best Photos

I love observing the way kids play off their dad’s energy. It often leads to creative moments because a dad will play around to get the child smiling, and at the same time, he’s having fun himself. It’s wonderful to see the way a father’s face lights up when he makes his child smile and laugh.

I like to get a mix of cozy candids and posed portraits so you end up with something you can frame.

Parent Playfulness

It seems like every dad has a goofy side, just waiting for a reason to come out, and it is always a delight to his children when it does.

Plus, I think dads like playing art director sometimes, coming up with photo setups. I often get asked if I’ll take one of him tossing the toddler in air, or something that has meaning to them, like the dad carrying a child on his shoulders.

Photo Package for Dad

I’m offering a limited edition photo package on Father’s Day in Cleveland, at Edgewater Park.

Get Dad that photo of the kids climbing on the Cleveland sign he’s always wanted, or a portrait of the whole family in front of the lake. It’s a quick 20-minute session, but there will be time for baby-and-dad shots, just the kids, and full family photos.
